Privacy notice
This notice covers the enquiry form on this website. Applicant data we verify for universities is handled under a separate data processing agreement with each institution.
Who we are
African Students Centre ("we", "us") provides applicant verification and student readiness training to universities. For the personal data you submit through this website, we are the data controller. Contact us about privacy at privacy@africanstudentscentre.com.
What we collect
- Your name, work email address, institution, role and any details you include in your message.
- Your answers to the risk check, but only if you send them with an audit request. Otherwise they never leave your browser.
- Basic technical data such as your IP address, which our form provider receives when you submit the form.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details to reply to your enquiry and arrange a conversation about our services. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in replying to business enquiries. We do not sell your data or use it for unrelated marketing.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case our contract sets the retention period.
Who we share it with
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. Enquiries are delivered to us by email through FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which processes the form contents only to send them to us. We do not share your details with anyone else unless the law requires it.
International transfers
We operate in the UK and in African countries. Where your data moves between countries, we protect it with appropriate safeguards under UK GDPR, Nigeria's NDPA 2023, South Africa's POPIA and other applicable laws.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing privacy@africanstudentscentre.com. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This website does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
